| Dear Chris,
Thanks for your letter! It was really interesting to know that your teacher told you about Russian inventions. I think the most famous Russian invention is the radio by Alexander Popov. It is important because radio communication changed the whole world. In my opinion, science lessons at school are very useful: they help us to understand how things work and develop logical thinking. If a foreigner wanted to learn about Russian scientists, I would recommend Mendeleev. His Periodic Table is used everywhere, and it made chemistry much easier to study. By the way, you wrote that you bought a present for your brother. What kind of present is it? Was it expensive? Do you think he will like it? Looking forward to your reply. Best wishes, [Your Name] |

| Dear Ronny,
Thank you for your letter! I’m glad to hear that your summer holidays are starting soon. In Russia the weather in summer is usually quite warm, sometimes even hot, especially in July. However, in some regions it can be rainy. My favourite season is spring because everything around comes back to life, the days become longer, and nature looks so beautiful. As for my plans for the summer, I want to spend some time in the countryside with my grandparents, go hiking with my friends, and of course prepare a little for school exams. You mentioned that your uncle Keith is coming. How long is he going to stay with you? What places are you planning to show him? Does he often visit your family? Looking forward to your reply. Best wishes, [Your Name] |
